"Ambujam" Home for the Aged

Intervention

  • Individual counselling, get-together meeting, yoga and recreation activities were created peace of mind and makes the elders to feel at home.
  • 12 medical camps were organized in coordination with local Primary Health Centre and given free treatment for common ailments.
  • Sensitized on family based elder care among community stakeholders, Village Health Nurse, Anganwadi workers, Village Administrative Officer, Self Help Group members, school teachers and children. 1515 were benefited.
  • Elders at Home are engaged in gardening, basket making, hand fan making, watching television and newspaper reading.
  • World Elders Day was celebrated by conducting several events for the elders at Manalmedu and motivated with prizes.
  • With the support of District administration, panchayat water connection was given and thereby the elders extended their thanks to the District Collector.
  • District Social Welfare Officer, Block Development Officer, Taluk Supply Officer, MS, GS, Executive Officer  were inspected and given suggestions.   
Reached 0 community members through outreach activities.
  0 senior citizens (09 Male & 21 Female) were supported with counselling assistance, shelter, food, medical care and recreation..
  0 senior citizens were rehabilitated and reunited with family members successfully

Impact

The Home for the elderly satisfied with its services rendered with love and care. The inmates feel homely and enjoy the days with similar age group by sharing experience and joy.
