"Anubhavam" Home for the Aged

Intervention

  • At this reporting period, 09 deserted elders  (04 male and 05 female) were newly admitted in Home and 07 elders (03 male and 04 female) were reunited with their families successfully. Totally the project taken care of 49 elders this year. At present there are 42 inmates at Home out of which 12 are male 28 are female.
  • Conducted 42 social awareness programmes 874 were participated.
  • Conducted 04 medical camps and 42 elders were participated. As a result, 03 inmates were underwent eye surgery and got their vision back, 01 inmate underwent joint pain operation and 01 underwent uterus operation. Moreover, the project receives monthly medicines from Apollo hospital as per the need of inmates.
  • Celebrated important days and festivals along with Govt and like minded institutions. Leveraged 6 Old Age Pension for 6 eligible elders.
  • The District Collector, Thasildar, VAO, District Civil Supply Officer, District Judge, DRO, Revenue Inspector, Nagapattinam, District Social Welfare Officer  and Grama Sevika were visited the Home and given suggestions.

  0 senior citizens were supported with counselling assistance, shelter, food, medical care and recreation.
  0 senior citizens were rehabilitated successfully

Impact

The elders enjoy the services provided by the project on ensuring their health and mental status. Yoga, health camps, recreation and nutrition support improved physical and mental wellbeing of elders at Home.
